This year’s Carnaval Theme is:
“New Life / Nueva Vida”
Below is an outline of some of the
exciting new changes for this year’s Carnaval
CONTINGENT ASSISTANCE FUND
This year, in response to community
need for financial and technical assistance, we have earmarked $40,000 towards financial assistance
fund and monetary prize awards. Funds will be allocated as follows:
8 - $2,000 and 8 - $1,000 grants are available in a competitive application
process. In addition, there are 22 -
$500 stipends available.
$5,000 will be allocated for 3 Grand Prize winners.
($2,500 1st place, $1,500 2nd place; $1,000 3rd place)
NOTE: There is no need to have
non-profit status to apply for Carnaval San
Francisco.

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE
Attached is a form for those
interested in technical assistance, and receiving information about vendor or
exhibitor booth opportunities.
CARNAVAL KING & QUEEN CONTEST
Will be held Sunday, March 31st at
ODC Theater,
*There will be cash prize of $500 for each of the winners!!!

FESTIVAL VENUE
The Festival returns to the Mission
District!
Festival will be held Saturday and Sunday May 25 & 26 from
10am - 6pm, on Harrison Street between 17th and 21st Streets, San Francisco,
CA.
PARADE ROUTE & START TIME!
In response to community feedback we
have shortened the parade route and are limiting participation this to a maximum
of 40 contingents.
Parade will be held Sunday, May 26 starting at
